Iggesund & Hudiksvall

Both Hudiksvall and Iggesund have a magnificent and varied nature. Here you can enjoy both land and sea, city and forest, tradition and innovation, history and future.

Holmen in Hudiksvall & Iggesund

Holmen is one of the biggest forest owners in Sweden and the growing forest is the basis of our business. We are part of the ecocycle from seedling to plank, where the raw material is refined into everything from wood for climate-smart buildings to renewable packaging, magazines and books.

Together with Iggesund's sawmill, Iggesund's mill creates a biocombine with smart environmental solutions for the future. The mill supplies the sawmill with steam which is used to dry the timber and in return receives raw material in the form of wood chips to make pulp or energy.

Hudiksvall - The pearl on the Norrland coast with rich boating, horse pastures and the charm of the wooden town

In the middle of Sweden, along the coast of Hälsingland, lies Hudiksvall. For over a hundred years people have been talking about the city and the people here as "Happy Hudik". If you enjoy outdoor activities, sports and being out in the beautiful Swedish nature, then chances are that you will enjoy Hudiksvall.

Enjoy a magnificent and varied nature with land and sea, city and forest, tradition and innovation, history and future. In addition, the archipelago - with over a hundred islands, long beaches and beautiful fishing villages - is a must experience.

There are good communication opportunities, with only 2.5 hours train journey to Stockholm and about ten kilometers to both Gävle and Sundsvall.

Iggesund - industrial area with proximity to sea and forest

Nine kilometers south of Hudiksvall lies Iggesund, which is a typical industrial area. Iggesund also has a magnificent and varied nature and offers a great outdoor life, with both forest and archipelago close at hand.

It is not obvious, but Iggesund is located on an island. The island is called Iggesundsön and is Hälsingland's largest island.

The area also has the Bodarna caves (Bodagrottorna), Europe's longest known underground caves. The system is approximately 2,600 meters long and in some places as much as three stories high.
