Who am I?
I am 39 years old and live outside Kilafors, about 20 km south of Bollnäs. I share a smallholding here with my wife Emilie and two children. In my spare time, the family diary is packed with activities for the children, but I also get time for my own interests of cross-country skiing, hunting and golf.
My workplace
I work as a timber purchaser in the Purchasing Bollnäs department and my office is in Bollnäs.
The department is responsible for purchasing timber from private landowners in the catchment area of southern Hälsingland, Gästrikland and eastern Dalarna.
The team working on this currently comprises eight wood buyers, two operational planners, a forestry planner and a purchasing manager.
My working day and what does a timber purchaser do?
I am responsible for buying wood from forest owners in the municipality of Bollnäs, and I spend a lot of my time meeting forest owners. These meetings might cover anything from what forestry measures are relevant on the property – thinning, clearing and harvesting, for example – to what the long-term plan looks like, maybe in terms of a generational transition.
In addition to meeting forest owners, a lot of my time is spent planning harvesting, thinning and clearing.

Why Holmen?
Holmen is an attractive place to work, with stable owners who have long-term goals.
The team I am part of enjoys working together and, best of all, we help each other and have fun at work.
I have the privilege of being able to organise my working hours to fit in with my life as a parent of young children, and I really value that.
That’s all from me!
I’d like to thank you for joining me briefly and getting an insight into what working as a timber purchaser can be like.
I want to finish by saying that I have the best job in the world.
