We want you to develop and flourish at Holmen – today and tomorrow. For you to be successful in your role, the conditions have to be right. Our values – courage, commitment and responsibility – are deeply embedded in the organisation and are integral to our company culture. Our core values also hold the key to successful employeeship.
Keys to employeeship
1. Contribute towards a strong team
We believe in the commitment that lives in every individual, but we also believe in a strong team that wants to succeed together. Working together and helping each other out is part of the culture at Holmen. We have a learning culture that is clearly goal-oriented. As an employee you are given great trust and scope to influence your work day to day and to achieve your goals.
2. Give and take feedback
Feedback is how we help each other to improve. Be generous with feedback to your manager and your colleagues. You have a responsibility to contribute towards your own development, your team’s development and the company’s development. We are all part of each other’s work environment and we work together towards our goals. Mutual tolerance and respect create a successful and healthy workplace.
3. Challenge yourself
We want you to have the confidence to push the boundaries and try new things. To help you, you have a team of competent colleagues and managers who listen and give you the tools to succeed. Having ideas and suggesting changes, both in your own work and in the business in general, is important in driving development forward.
4. Seek out the information you need
Your manager is a good information source, as are our intranet and other internal channels provided by Holmen. But it is important for you to take the initiative yourself and seek out relevant information in various different ways.
New at Holmen – a great start
When you join us as a new employee, we want to give you the best start we can. The groundwork is laid during the recruitment process itself, where we attempt to provide a clear picture of your new role and of us as an employer.
Once in post, your manager and your new colleagues will make you feel welcome. Your manager is responsible for ensuring that your introduction to your role, your team and your workplace runs as smoothly as possible.
Appraisal talks
All employees at Holmen are offered appraisal talks every year. The talk is important – for you, your manager and the company. Together we follow up on the past year, set goals and plan your development.
Employee surveys
Holmen’s employee survey gives you as an employee an opportunity to make us an even better employer. The survey monitors the key aspects of employeeship and seeks to make sure that the company is moving in the right direction and that development is progressing.
