Braviken Sawmill's sanitary waste system is connected to Braviken Paper Mill's treatment system. The storm drains empty into the ditches that surround the industrial site, and they in turn empty into the bay of Bråvikenfjärden. Water from the drying process also runs into the storm drains.
Water for watering the saw timber stocks is taken from Braviken Paper Mill's industrial water system and stored in a 2 000 m3 pond. It is then pumped via a pumping station to the watering pillars that are located in the sorted and unsorted saw timber storage yard. The water is then channelled along ditches to a screening station, where the recovered water is mechanically cleaned before being returned to the pond. The watering system is climate-controlled and used during the summer months.
The pond is emptied, if required, after the watering period. The question of whether it is possible to release the water into Bråvikenfjärden is handled by the supervisory authority.
