Tuesday November 18th will be the inauguration of the Varsvik wind farm. The first major wind farm in the Stockholm region.
“The wind farm has the capacity to produce an annual total of 165 GWh, enough to power around 35 000 apartments for a year” says Rikard Nilsson, project manager.
The park is built on Holmen's own land in the Municipality of Norrtälje, close to the Hallsta Paper Mill, and since the beginning of autumn 17 wind turbines have been spinning.
Holmen owns the wind farm along with the French investment fund Eurofideme 2 that invest in renewable energy.
