Joakim Gustafsson, former head of tenders and business analysis at Martinsons Byggsystem, has become the new CEO of the company. He succeeds Lars Atterfors, who served as acting CEO from September 2021.

“I feel incredibly inspired and excited to be leading Martinsons. I look forward to working with our talented board members, senior managers and employees to continue developing the company as a sustainable and profitable business. For me, the employees are our most important resource, and that is an area I intend to devote a great deal of attention to as we move forward,” says Joakim Gustafsson.

Martinsons supplies construction systems in glulam and CLT for everything from sports halls, grandstands and farm buildings to high-rise apartment blocks, office buildings and commercial premises. The business covers development and design, as well as sales, project management and assembly. Martinsons is part of Holmen and has offices in Umeå, Bygdsiljum and Skellefteå, with around 50 employees and a turnover of almost SEK 400 million.

“In our judgement, Joakim is exceedingly well equipped to lead Martinsons into the future. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all the areas in which the company operates, and has the right personality to lead the company,” states Johan Padel, Board chairman at Martinsons Byggsystem and also Senior Vice President of Holmen Wood Products, the business area that Martinsons has been part of since October 2020.

Joakim Gustafsson is 39 years old and has worked at Martinsons since 2012. Before that he was owner and CEO of other companies.

Martinsons has designed, delivered and assembled a wide range of projects that have attracted both national and international acclaim. These include delivery and assembly of the structural frame for Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, the multipurpose IFU Arena in Uppsala and the seven-storey Korsningen office block in the centre of Örebro.
