- It feels really good that Coop is investing in a sustainable building with locally produced wood that gives a low environmental impact all the way from the forest to the finished building, says Robert Martinson, account manager for commercial buildings at Martinsons*.

Stora Coop will have a retail area of approximately 2,500 sqm.

- After a frame investigation, we came to the conclusion that a wooden frame is a more sustainable alternative. The fact that Skellefteå also has a profile as a wooden town and that Martinsons is included as a local supplier, was also important, says Lars Carlstedt, property manager at Coop Nord.

- The load-bearing wooden beams also mean that we can have long spans and few pillars in the store, he says.

The plan is that Stora Coop Norrböle will open in the summer of 2022.

*Martinsons has been part of Holmen since October 2020.
