Vision Zero for Discrimination and Harassment

Our culture is based on a determined commitment to health, safety, diversity and inclusion. We never accept any form of discrimination. Vision Zero for discrimination and accidents is self-evident for us – and we will never let go of it. These are followed up internally via employee surveys, performance appraisals and reported cases.

Vision Zero for Accidents

A healthy culture and injury-free workplace for both our employees and the contractors who work with us is a matter of course. We conduct joint and systematic work environment management in accordance with ISO 45001. As always, the precautionary principle applies. We work long-term and focused towards our zero accident vision.

Strong relationships in a vibrant countryside

At Holmen, we feel at home in many places around Sweden – often outside the metropolitan regions. Here we build strong relationships, create opportunities and grow together with those who, just like us, see forests and nature as a natural part of life.

Forestry is a prerequisite for a vibrant countryside. Our forest roads take people out into nature and thinning means that the forest does not overgrow, so that you have the opportunity to pick mushrooms, walk and spend time in the forest. As one of Sweden's largest forest owners, with a land holding of 1.3 million hectares from north to south, it is a matter of course for us at Holmen to have a good relationship with forest owners and local residents as well as everyone else who lives with the forest in one way or another.

It is important that forests grow and provide us with renewable products, and it is at least as important that people have the opportunity to grow. Forestry creates jobs where jobs are often few, and makes it possible for people to live, stay and thrive even far from the big cities.

We are involved in associations and the hospitality industry at home. Together, we create opportunities for people to meet, thrive and experience nature.

We collaborate with sports and cultural associations and offer great opportunities for hunting and fishing on our land. In the film you will meet some of the associations that we sponsor.

Together at home

We embrace the opportunity to contribute to a society where we reduce the gaps instead of reinforcing them. That is why we are involved in initiatives that make life in our region better, and for us it is a matter of course that children and young people should be offered meaningful leisure time even in smaller towns. We also invest in industrial training and young people's opportunities to discover the joy of science, technology and wood.

Holmen Wood Products makes high-quality wood products for the joinery and construction industry, and directly for builders’ merchants and wood product importers. The raw material comes from our own slow-growing, responsibly managed forests and is turned into sustainable building material in our five chain-of-custody certified sawmills. Because we are in control of our raw material, the logistics chain from forest to saw, and the entire production process, we can guarantee that we are a stable and reliable supplier.
