At Holmen Paper, we are part of more than one circular system. As a paper supplier we know how important it is that we source, produce and deliver our products sustainably. This is both a promise for the future and a relevant business value that we bring our customers.
The circular process of paper
When you buy or use a product from Holmen Paper, the material is renewable and traceable, coming from sustainably managed forests. After the paper is used, it’s fed into the recycling system. An inflow of fresh fibre paper is needed to keep the system of recycled papers going, to maintain the quality needed for making graphical papers.
Paper has the largest recycling rate of all materials in Europe and in most parts of the world. With local presence all over the world we help our customers to make sustainable business choices, based on their circumstances and needs.
Holmen Group's circular approach
Producing paper also makes sense as part of the circular approach of Holmen Group, where all parts of the trees are put into use, and where the transports are made as short as possible from sawmills to paper mills. Our production process includes making the best possible use of energy and minimizing waste by processing and repurposing. Replanting trees is important, and so is reusing and restoring clean water, air and soil.
Holmen can make a difference because all our business areas complement each other: Holmen Forest, Holmen Wood products, Holmen Energy, Holmen Iggesund Paperboard and Holmen Paper. Our growing forests reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Our hydro- and wind power plants contribute to the renewable energy transformation. And our products can substitute fossil alternatives on different markets. We work together to grow a sustainable future.
