Your future challenge

We are now looking for Shift Production Operators to join our Production teams at Workington Mill.

Our Production Operators play a vital role in ensuring the mill operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. We provide comprehensive training across a wide range of production activities, giving you the opportunity to develop new skills and build a long-term career within Holmen.

This is a full-time shift-based role working a rotating 12-hour day and night shift pattern. The rota spans a 34-day cycle and includes 20 built-in rest days and holidays, offering an excellent work-life balance.

Reporting to the Site Shift Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Your main areas of responsibility

  • Working safely and following all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
  • Operating machinery and equipment efficiently to maximise production performance and quality
  • Carrying out production activities to ensure customer requirements are consistently met
  • Working collaboratively within a team-focused production environment
  • Supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence across the mill

To succeed in the role

We are looking for motivated individuals with a positive attitude and a strong team ethic. You enjoy working in a fast-paced industrial environment and take pride in delivering high standards of work.

You will ideally have:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English, Maths and Science/ICT, or an equivalent/higher qualification 
  • As an alternative candidates with significant relevant production experience may be considered. 
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
  • An interest in production processes and manufacturing operations
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning

Previous manufacturing or process industry experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
