Technical data sheetPrinted direct marketing is still one of the most efficient ways to drive demand, boost online traffic and launch campaigns. It is possible to work cost-efficiently all the way from production to distribution. Holmen XLNT lets you gain advantage from direct marketing in your media mix without blowing your budget.
Holmen XLNT is a sturdy uncoated paper suitable for both heatset and gravure printing. It comes in grammages from 38 gsm and up. The high opacity even in low grammages makes it a great choice for your direct mail or for supplements. The fact that Holmen XLNT is produced from fresh fibre gives it stability and stiffness. If you like, you can choose a low basis weight without your end product becoming floppy. The properties of the fresh fibre gives the paper higher bulk.
High bulk means that the paper is more voluminous. The finished printed material weighs less while still retaining its thickness. With higher bulk you can buy fewer tonnes and still get the same amount of print surface. You can also buy the same amount of paper in tonnes and add more pages. Or you can add more copies to your print run.
SC-B paper is a super-calendered paper with brightness in class B. The surface becomes smooth without any added coating thanks to the calendering process. Calendering is somewhat similar to ironing, where the paper is pressed between hot rollers with steam under high pressure. The primary ingredient of our paper, the fresh fibre, has a strength and elasticity that enables you to go for a very low grammage paper if you like. The paper has a natural feel to it with a softer brightness, ISO 65 to ISO 68. The opacity is between 89 and 92 percent also in the lighter weights.
Holmen Paper operates according to globally recognized standards and Holmen XLNT is available with FSC® (FSC ID FSC-C020071), PEFC™/05-33-134 and EU Ecolabel certification.
