You are welcome to download the Environmental Declarations (ED) for all our paper and paperboard products. Each Environmental Declaration includes both the product’s Carbon Footprint and the Paper Profile, along with brief explanations of the data behind them. You'll also find a GHG Protocol reporting table for each mill, along with background information on the energy sources and wood supply.

Transparent environmental reporting
Sustainability and environmental data monitoring are integrated throughout our entire business. It's followed up in accordance with the requirements of our management systems, such as ISO 14001.
Our annual sustainability reporting is published as part of Holmen’s Annual Report. The 2025 report follows the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and complies with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
Acting on new insights
The sustainability report structured according to the principle of double materiality and reflects our ambition to stay informed about all issues that are strategically important to our company. This also means that we incorporate new insights as they emerge, continually refining our calculations and value‑chain data to reflect the best available understanding of actual emissions.
Find Holmen's Sustainability Report in our latest Annual Report, on pages 98-130.
Externally prepared Carbon Footprint and Paper Profile data
The Environmental Declaration aim to offer a broad perspective and clear documentation on our products and the mills where they are produced. We want our customers and potential partners to have a solid foundation for making informed decisions.
Afry serves as the independent technical provider of the Carbon Footprint calculations and Paper Profile data. They collect and prepare the data for all our mills to ensure methodological consistency. Having an independent organisation perform the calculations strengthens the robustness and reliabilty of our process.
Explaining why carbon emissions may vary depending on how you measure them
Increased knowledge will gradually influence carbon‑emission reporting and support future developments aimed at minimising environmental impact. To make it easier for you to find the most suitable data for comparing products or production sites, we have included:
- Carbon footprint, based on CEPI Ten Toes, product level
- Paper Profile, reporting direct emissions from production
- GHG emissions at mill level
- Energy information
- Origin of wood
These different reporting models use different scopes or draw their boundaries around different parts of the product, production process, or look into different steps of the value chain. So make sure to compare them “apple to apple”.
The Environmental Declaration includes explanations for each part to make it easier to understand what lies behind the headlines. If you would like to delve deeper, you can continue to our GHG emission calculation guide.
The more you learn, the easier it becomes to ask the right questions. And when everyone is asking the right questions, the potential for real change in the market becomes much stronger.
