Water and mountains

Workington, Storbritannien

Here you can enjoy the hospitality and be amazed by the unique nature.

Holmen in Workington

The growing forest is the basis of our business. We are part of the ecocycle from seedling to plank, where the raw material is refined into everything from wood for climate-smart buildings to renewable packaging, magazines and books. We also produce our own renewable energy from hydro and wind power. With a clear focus on sustainability in all aspects, Holmen contributes to a brighter future.

Workington Mill

Workington, United Kingdom - In beautiful Lake District

At the top of the northwest corner, adjacent to Scotland, in the Lake District area is the town of Workington. Here you can visit the local pub, enjoy the hospitality and be amazed by the unique nature. There is also one of England's largest hiking and cycling areas along the coast. The Lake District and Workington are a real tourist magnet, which actually attracts more tourists than Phuket in a year. Great writers such as Beatrice Potter and poet William Wordsworth are some of the great cultural personalities who have taken their inspiration from the magnificent nature of the area. Workington is also the only place in the world where you can experience "Uppies and Downies", a version of medieval football played on the city streets around Easter every year.
