Why did you apply for a summer job at Holmen?
I was actively looking for summer jobs relevant to my studies in Industrial Engineering and Management. Holmen seemed like an interesting workplace with complex flows and great opportunities to learn about the practical challenges of the industry. I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how planning, production, and logistics interact in a large organization, and Holmen offered exactly that kind of environment.
How would you describe your time at Holmen?
My time at Holmen has been both rewarding and highly educational. I quickly got into the work and experienced what it’s like to work in a large, well-organized industrial company. I felt welcome from day one, and there was a clear trust in letting me take responsibility and contribute in a meaningful way.
What was the most interesting or educational part of your job? What will you take with you?
The most valuable part was collaborating with so many different people every day—from operators in the control rooms to planners in Norrköping and sales offices across Europe. I gained a much clearer picture of how different parts of a company fit together and how crucial communication is to make everything work. That’s something I’ll definitely take with me moving forward.
What was the best thing about your summer job at Holmen?
The best part was the combination of responsibility and support. I worked on tasks that truly mattered, while having colleagues around me who were open, helpful, and always ready to explain. That allowed me to develop quickly and really enjoy my time—while making a real contribution.

What expectations did you have, and was there anything that surprised you?
I expected a summer job with clear tasks, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much responsibility I actually got. It was also unexpected how included I felt in the overall problem-solving, despite it being a temporary position.
Anything else you’d like to highlight about working as a summer employee at Holmen?
As a summer employee, I really appreciated the forward-thinking culture. Even though I was only there for a limited time, I felt included and involved in the daily improvement work. Holmen is full of driven colleagues who constantly strive to improve the business, whether it’s about efficiency or the work environment.
Could you see yourself working at Holmen again?
Yes, absolutely. It’s a company with a long-term perspective, where you can both grow and contribute. I would gladly work at Holmen again, perhaps in an even more analytical or strategic role in the future.
