We have a holistic approach to responsible business and our work draws on the UN Global Compact. We see it as natural to support its ten principles on human rights, social and environmental responsibility, and anti-corruption.

Holmen supports the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), OECD’s guidelines for multinational companies as well as the Modern Slavery Act. The content of this Code of Conduct, which is based on these principles and targets, clarifies what each employee can expect from their colleagues.
This Code of Conduct applies to all employees of the Holmen Group. Compliance with the standards in this Code of Conduct is crucial when choosing who we work with. Holmen works to ensure that its operations are characterised by responsible behaviour towards employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers, authorities, and other stakeholders.

Holmen works to contribute to the achievement of UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Holmen supports the principles of the UN Global Compact, the fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), OECD’s guidelines for multinational companies as well as the Modern Slavery Act. The Supplier Code of Conduct has been approved by the Board of Directors and clarifies what Holmen expects of its suppliers.
One of the purposes of the Code of Conduct is to improve our environmental footprint and conditions for everyone working in Holmen’s value chain.
Compliance with this Supplier Code of Conduct is taken into account when deciding who we want to work with and when evaluating ongoing contractual relationships. We employ an external partner, EcoVadis, to evaluate and follow up supplier compliance with our Code of Conduct in the areas of human rights, health and safety, the environment, business ethics and purchasing. The evaluation is tailored to the size of the supplier in terms of turnover and number of employees, and the supplier’s exposure to risk in terms of its geographical presence.
