The Iggesund Sawmill is connected to the municipal wastewater system. Surface water flows off into the lower reaches of the river Iggesund, which in turn flows into the Iggesund estuary.
The surface water network also handles water from the drying process in the drying chambers and from watering saw timber in the interim storage yard.
Water for watering the saw timber stocks is drawn from Iggesund Mill's industrial water system and stored in a 600 m3 pond. It is then pumped via a pumping station to watering pillars located in the sorted and unsorted saw timber storage yard. The water is then drained back on the ground to a screening station for mechanical cleaning before being returned to the pond. The watering system is climate-controlled and used during the summer months. The pond is emptied once a year, in the autumn, and the water is pumped to Iggesund Mill's aerated basin.
The pond is emptied after the watering period, with the water pumped to Iggesund Mill's wastewater treatment plant.
