Holmen AB and investment fund Eurofideme 2 has built the Varsvik wind farm in the Municipality of Norrtälje. The wind farm is jointly owned through the company Varsvik AB. Annual production is estimated at 165 GWh.



Holmen produces printing paper, paperboard and sawn timber. The Group also owns forest and energy assets. Holmen’s sales for the most recent full financial year were SEK 16 231 million and the Group employs around 3 718 people. Its shares are listed on Nasdaq OMX Nordic, Large Cap.

Holmen developed the plans for the Varsvik wind farm through its business area/subsidiary Holmen Energi, with the wind turbines located on its own land in the Municipality of Norrtälje, close to the Hallsta Paper Mill.

Eurofideme 2 is an investment fund dedicated to renewable energy projects in Europe, and is part of Mirova, the responsible investment arm of Natixis Asset Management, one of the largest asset managers in the world. Mirova, through Fideme and Eurofideme 2 successive funds, has been actively investing in the renewable energy space since 2003 participating in building more than 600 MW of wind projects in Europe, including France and Sweden. The wind farm

The wind farm comprises of 17 wind turbines with a total installed power of 51 MW and expected annual production of up to 165 GWh.
