On July 13-14 PM 62 at Holmen Paper Madrid set a new world speed record for newsprint machines. The average speed over 24 hours
was 2 030 m/minute with a time efficiency of 94.9%.
The record has been certified by machine manufacturer Voith GmbH and Production Manager Oscar García is very proud over the achievement: "This record is the result of hard work and committment from the staff at PM62 and the entire paper mill. Our operations depend on the collaboration and dedication of our staff, and on July 13-14th we truly saw the effects of all their efforts".
The previous world record with an average speed over 24 hours of 2 020 m/minute was held by PM 1 at UPM's Hürth mill in Germany.
