Your future challenge Reporting directly to the Head of Boardmaking, you will be the resource manager of the shift crews with responsibility, through the area team leaders and technicians, for our production operations and across site.

You will strive to meet the KPIs in accordance with Health & Safety, environmental and product quality standards, and in line with the Holmen Core Values of Courage, Commitment and Responsibility.

Key Duties:

• Maintain awareness of environmental, health & safety issues and housekeeping; record and lead first line investigation
• The principle point of contact for all operational matters on a 24/7 basis, and act as the Company representative during out-of-hours periods
• Lead production teams; allocation of resources across process areas to optimise production and profitability
• Ensure board quality achievement against the required specifications.
• Involvement in mill shut planning / execution and coordination
• Present production brief at daily review meeting
• Review and update the shift training matrix and associated records to ensure job cover, personal development and succession planning
• Brief teams on all relevant issues and activities
• Lead management of all emergency situations through co-ordination of IP(W)L resources and liaison with external bodies
• Communicate effectively with other shift production teams, area day management team, maintenance personnel and technical staff
• Manage and plan for shift maintenance requirements
To succeed in this role Required level of competence and qualities:
• Demonstrable excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Extensive knowledge and experience of relevant production processes and control systems
• Appropriate training in Health & Safety (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)
• Appropriate Environmental training – including Duty of Care
• Working knowledge of relevant data systems
