Technical data sheet

Benefits of high-bulk paper

Holmen TRND is a high-bulk, low-weight uncoated paper for high-end magazines, catalogues and all types of printing. Why do people love it so much?

The tactile feel will enhance the experience

If you love paper, you also love the physical aspects of holding a paper product in your hand. The natural, matt surface of Holmen TRND has a unique, tactile feel. Uncoated, slightly rough, raw. The colours and images feel close to you, unfiltered, real. The touch of the pages against your fingertips will enhance the experience. And the surface texture delivers a reading experience that’s almost addictive.

Once you go TRND, you’re never going back!

40 per cent lower weight

By choosing Holmen TRND instead of coated wood-free paper, your magazine can become up to 40 per cent lighter but with the same thickness. Just imagine what that does to your distribution costs. With higher bulk, you can buy fewer tonnes. You will still get the same print surface! Or you can buy the same amount of paper as before and add more pages.

Carbon emissions can be reduced

Everything that is produced has an environmental impact. But compare this high-bulk uncoated paper to wood-free papers with glossy finish and you will find them on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Thanks to its bulky properties, Holmen TRND in a lower grammage will give you the same paper thickness and opacity as another premium paper in a higher grammage. So, you will save on paper. But you will also save on resources. When you use less paper in tonnes, we are using less raw materials for making this paper, and there will be less energy and fuel used for transport and distribution.

Holmen TRND is made from fresh wood-fibres, by-products from Holmen's wood industry and sustainably managed forests. The paper contains few additives, pigments and fillers, compared to wood-containing and coated papers. Together, these qualities result in a low carbon footprint and a smaller environmental impact.

Applications

Light-weight, attention-grabbing magazine paper

The feel of Holmen TRND might be rough, but don’t be fooled by the surface. Holmen TRND is an uncoated magazine paper with great image reproduction and print result. It’s lightweight. It’s attention-grabbing. It’s marvellous.

Sustainability

Magazine papers that minimise environmental impact

Holmen's paper is made from residual by-products of the wood industry and responsibly managed forests. Every part of the tree is used, ensuring that nothing goes to waste. We plant new trees with each forest cycle to secure growth and a thriving landscape. Our proximity to raw materials and efficient production at our mills give us one of the world's lowest carbon footprints.
