Celebrating Swedish design
he Swedish Design memo game celebrates 175 years of Svensk Form - Swedish Design - showcasing prominent examples from Swedish textile design, ceramics, furniture and many more areas, over the years. It also contains a built-in quiz regarding the designs included in the game. A booklet not only holds the answers, it also presents the designers and their works.
Game designer Fredrika Berghult says that her aim is to stimulate conversations between all generations, about things that may interest both old and young. This memo game can be used in homes and schools to shine light on subjects such as design, crafts and production.
Using Holmen TRND and Invercote
Holmen is happy and proud to be part of 175 years of Swedish design. For the booklet, Fredrika chose premium paper Holmen TRND 80 gsm. And the innovative game box and memo cards were produced with our iconic paperboard Invercote G Duo.
Both products are made from fresh fibres and fully recyclable. So the memo celebrates Swedish design with sustainable stationary and packaging.
International attention
Swedish Design Memo was short-listed for the 2021 Swedish Design Prize, nominated in the class Identity - Packaging. The game has received a great deal of attention, both in Sweden and internationally. It’s a great example of design stationary.
It consists of 48x2 cards, four quiz folders and a small booklet. The idea of the game is to find the right decade for the design classics shown on the memo card pairs. You can also get additional points from answering bonus questions.
