Our convering plant in Strömsbruk is Holmen’s specialist facility for advanced finishing. Here, paperboard from our mills in Iggesund and Workington can be enhanced to meet the demands of converters in the food, confectionery, and cosmetics packaging industries.
At Strömsbruk, paperboard is extrusion-coated with plastics, laminated with films and foils, or glue-laminated to heavier substrates. These processes add functional barriers against moisture, grease and gases, ideal for food packaging and other sensitive products. The mill operates three production lines with a combined annual capacity of over 40,000 tonnes.
Invercote, Incada and Inverform can be laminated or combined with different barriers and coatings to add protection, strength and design opportunities to your packaging.
We operate according to globally recognised standards for forest stewardship and management of environmental, energy and quality aspects. All standards are integrated into business procedures and reviewed annually by internal specialists and external, certified auditors.
We hold certificates related to our operations and products, all of which can be downloaded further below. The certificates for the Iggesund Mill are also valid for our conversion plant in Strömsbruk.
FSC®
FSC® (FSC®-C110018) stands for Forest Stewardship Council® and is an international system for certifying forestry that has the support of many environmental organisations. Read more at ic.fsc.org.
PEFC
PEFC (PEFC/05-33-105) is short for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes. It was originally a European system for certification of forestry, but it has gained global recognition. Read more at www.pefc.org.
ISO certificates

Certificates for composting
A certified product can be composted in an industrial composting facility in accordance with the European standard EN 13432.
Adherence to additional standards, such as those related to food contact, toy safety, and archiving, is detailed in the technical data sheets for each paperboard product.
