1

Sturdy

Paperboard can withstand heavy usage and all of the strains and stresses of advanced finishing techniques.

2

Resilient

This highly durable material has excellent strength and shapeability, as well as a long lifespan.

3

Printing properties

Paperboard’s excellent printing properties ensure that colours are correctly reproduced on a light, stable material that is not prone to yellowing.

4

Low weight

Holmen’s paperboard has a relatively low weight, and empty cartons can be transported flat. This is a great energy savings advantage when it comes to transportation.

5

Safe

Paperboard, made from pure fresh fibres, undergoes a controlled manufacturing process that meets all product safety and hygiene requirements and ensures a consistent product with no contamination.

6

Energy efficient

After paperboard has been recycled a number of times and reached the end of its life cycle, the bioenergy can be retrieved either by incineration, anaerobic digestion or composting. Two tonnes of paperboard generate energy equivalent to five barrels (950 kilograms) of oil. When it comes to manufacturing, Holmen Iggesund’s paperboard mill is almost completely self-sufficient regarding energy use.

7

Environmentally sound

Paperboard is a renewable resource made from selected parts of timber from the forestry cycle and the production of sawn timber. It is easy to recycle and has a lower environmental impact than most other packaging solutions.

8

Folds well

Quality paperboards, like Invercote and Incada, can be folded repeatedly without breaking and show no disfiguring cracks on the surfaces.

9

Good cutting

Using bleached fresh fibre paperboard ensures a clean, white cut. Its strength gives an excellent result, regardless of how complicated or delicate a shape is designed.

10

High quality

Each paperboard sheet is carefully specified with some 30 values with defined tolerances. The consistently high quality of paperboard ensures that customers get the best possible performance every time.
