It used to be common practice to provide specific functions to change the text size, font and contrast on a website. Now these kinds of changes are often supported by the built-in functions in your browser.
Change text size
You can change the sizes of text on the website using the built-in functions in your browser. In most modern web browser you can do this by holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling the mouse wheel.
You can also change the text size using your browser’s menus. Below we’ve listed how to do this in the most popular browsers.
Internet Explorer
Choose Text size in the View menu. To make the text bigger, select Larger.
Firefox
Choose Zoom in the View menu. To make the text bigger, select Zoom In.
Shortcut to enlarge text in Firefox:
- Windows: CTRL and +
- Mac: Command and +
Opera
Choose Zoom on the View menu. Then select the percentage you want to enlarge or reduce the text size by.
Shortcut to enlarge text in Opera:
- Windows: + or 0
- Mac: Command and +
Safari
To enlarge text, select Zoom In in the View menu. If you want to reduce the text, select Zoom Out in the same menu.
