Hallsta Paper Mill is taking the lead in Holmen Paper’s shift towards a speciality paper company. This is where Holmen Paper’s speciality products are developed and to a large extent manufactured. The three paper machines at Hallsta Paper Mill produces MF magazine paper and a range of special qualities of wood-containing printing paper.
The focus here is on 100 per cent virgin fibre, which has been the driver in bringing Holmen XLNT, Holmen VIEW and the latest addition Holmen TRND into production on the mill’s super-efficient paper machines. Hallsta also has PM12, the paper machine that makes what we and many of our customers consider the world’s best book paper – Holmen BOOK.
The spirit of innovation is strong at Hallsta Paper Mill, which makes it stand out from the crowd. As an example, the mill’s climate smart energy solutions mean that residual products can be sold on as biofuel.
For our customers, a paper from Hallsta usually brings considerable cost-efficiencies and an option to source environmentally certified paper. Another benefit for our customers is our varied and flexible transport capacity. In addition to delivering by road and rail, the mill also has its own port, which improves delivery capacity no end.
In the fourth quarter 2013 paper machine 3 in Hallsta was closed down.
